Located in the Swiss Alps, 500 metres above Lake Lucerne, is the luxurious Bürgenstock Hotels & Resort. Despite having more than 100 years of history, the complex went through a long period of restoration and was only reopened last year. The place is so special that celebrities like Audrey Hepburn, Charles Chaplin and Sophia Loren were guests there.
I’ve always wanted to stay in a spa resort in Switzerland, so when my boyfriend surprised me with a reservation at the Bürgenstock I couldn’t believe it! I was so impressed with the hotel that I decided to share a bit of my experience with you.
Actually, the whole complex has 4 hotels and 67 residencies. We stayed in the main hotel, the Bürgenstock, which offers an incredible panoramic view of Lake Lucerne. The rooms are unbelievable!
All the hotel amenities are from the Italian brand BVLGARI. The best part was to use those products to prepare a bubble bath and sit in the tub for hours, just admiring the lake view.
The rate includes a delicious buffet breakfast for two people, besides access to the cinema, to the tennis courts, to the gym and to the spa. The rooms are also equipped with a minibar and a Nespresso machine, which is paradise for coffee lovers like me! For more information click here.
I got some pictures from the official website so you can have a better idea of how amazing the rooms are. Sorry, I got so excited that I forgot to take decent photos!
My boyfriend booked us dinner at Spices, one of the 9 restaurants in Bürgenstock complex. Their specialty is Asian cuisine, with authentic flavours from Japan, China, Thailand and even India. We simply loved the food, the atmosphere and the service. Everything was perfect!
The highlight of the trip, however, was the infinity outdoor pool, which is part of the delightful Alpine Spa.
The views from the pool are breathtaking!
The spa also has 4 other pools, such as the Indoor one.
In case you don’t want to stay at the Bürgenstock, you can just go there for a spa day. They offer different packages, as you can see here.
Impressive, isn’t it? I can assure you that the Bürgenstock was the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in!
